Daily skin care is a ritual which should be done by everyone in the morning and in the evening.
Daily skin care is very important because our skin deals with numerous internal and external stress factors everyday. In addition, if you want your skin to be healthy and look young year after year, it’s essential to have a habit of regular daily skin care.
Some people ask, if they really need to buy home care products if they’ve made injections, laser treatments or surgeries. My answer is a big YES! There is no any exclusive method in skin care.
Home care is something you can do to help your skin to manage the stress it faces everyday. The products can be found in different prices and different quality.
Check the brand for signs of good quality:
- certifications for using natural ingredients,
- dermatological tests,
- allergy tests,
- place of production,
- how long the brand is on the market,
- possible interaction with research laboratories and institutes,
- quality control,
- laboratories and clinically proved results,
- a wide range of products,
- cosmetic products are not drugs, so it shouldn’t contain hormones or other drug related substances,
- awards,
- trust of dermatologists and cosmetologists.
There are 3 simply steps you can do at home:
- Cleaning
- Moisturising
- Protection
The minimum set of home care products:
1. Cleaning.
It includes make-up removers, face washing products, tonics and scrubs. It’s a first and very important step.
Choose cleaning products depending on the skin type and age.
For example, gels and foams would be a good choice for young, oily or combination skin, as well as for skin with acne. Cleaning milks would be good for sensitive and/or dry skin. Washing creams would be good for very dry and/or aged skin. A lot of people underestimate the rolle of tonics. That’s a big mistake.
Tonics normalise the pH level on the skin surface, also prepare the skin for applying further products. There are tonics with alcohol for oily skin and without for normal, dry and sensitive skin.
Choose one which suits you and don’t forget to apply to your skin each time after washing.
2. Moisturising.
It includes gels, serums, ampoules and masks. All these products help to renew water balance in the skin.
Water is the major plasticizer of the skin, so when there is a defect in the permeability, the skin loses water and cracks occur. This condition is called dry or dehydrated skin. It’s important to reestablish the water level in the skin.
Moisturising products help to do that. Also, the base of these products contains the water-soluble ingredients, such as vitamins B, C and hyaluronic acid. Moreover, regular moisturising prevents skin aging and has a good lifting effect.
3. Protection.
It includes eye creams, day/night creams and masks. Ideally you should have separately eye cream and day/night cream.
The skin around the eyes is much thinner and sensitive from the rest of the face. Moreover, day and night creams have different concentrations of active ingredients, in addition, day creams usually contain some number of SPF protection. Creams contain the fat-soluble vitamins, like vitamin A, K and E, as well as other active ingredients, including the epithermal lipids. These lipids are necessary for keeping all water substances, plus for reestablishing the lipid barrier of the epidermis.

That’s the minimum set of products to keep your skin in a healthy condition. Usually, after 1-1,5 months of regular daily home care you will see the positive changes on your skin. All in all the important thing is not to stop. There is no addiction to the good quality cosmetic products. Skin will just renovate all the broken parts and with your help will keep working in a normal mode. Of course, you should add scrubs and masks one or twice a week for the better results, for solving specific problems and protection.
You just need to keep doing this routine and your skin will be very thankful by looking nice, revitalised and healthy.
