La Maison Du Gruyere… Cheese Factory

CHEESE FACTORY “La Maison Du Gruyere” produces the traditional swiss Le Gruyere Cheese!

La Maison Du Gruyere is located in Gruyeres, it’s a beautiful region, though, it’s a bit complicated to go there from Zurich by train because of a few connection trains, but it’s definitely worth it!!!

My road was: Zurich HB – Bern – Bull – Gruyeres the one way, and Gruyeres – Bull – Freiburg – Zurich HB coming back.

In order to have a comfortable trip, it’s better to check all the possible connections. All trains and timetables you can find on the SBB web site ( SBB.ch ) or SBB App.

I have already wrote that I love chocolate, so for cheese my feelings are even something stronger!:) It’s passion and addiction:) Nothing else I can eat in such extreme amounts and non-stop!:) And OMG, Switzerland is a cheese paradise! There are so many types of cheese and food with it as fondue, soups, pastas, salads and many others… :) :) :)

Le Gruyere is a traditional Swiss cheese. It has a distinctive taste and smell, that can vary with the age. The cheese is strong, but has a creamy structure and is perfect for serving as a sliced cheese as well as for cooking a fondue and other meals.

At the factory one can take a tour to learn the history of this wonderful cheese. During the tour visitors can smell the alpine herbs which cows eat for the unique taste of the milk and later the cheese, also touch the old farm equipment and see the production process. Moreover, everyone gets a package with the small pieces of different aged cheese!
