For the first time, Swiss Mocean Team participates in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge. The annual race starts on December 12th, with 30 teams participating from all over the world.

The Talisker  Whisky Atlantic Challenge is the world’s toughest rowing competition.

No surprises why, more people have been into space, or climbed the mount Everest than have rowed the Atlantic. This kind of challenge is for very physically and mentally strong people, who dare to challenge the nature and humans capabilities.

The race goes through more than 3000 miles (around 5000 km) on the second largest ocean on the planet, from the start point in San Sebastian on the Canary Islands and to the finish in English Harbour on Antigua ( Caribbean Islands ).

Talisker Whisky is made by the sea since 1830

Talisker is a single malt scotch whisky. It’s one of the most renowned and popular whiskies around the world. The whisky produced at the oldest distillery on the Isle of Skye, one of the most remote, rugged yet marvellous landscapes in Scotland. Talisker is a strong whisky with a unique ABV of 45.8%. It’s rich and smoky with signature pepper and marine notes.

I discovered a nice Talisker cocktail recipe at the Farewell Party of the Swiss Mocean Team, and want to share it with you.

    Talisker Skye Rider cocktail:

    • Fill a cocktail glass with ice cubes.
    • Add 4 cl of the Talisker Skye Whisky and 1 cl of the maple syrup.
    • Fill the glass with Ginger beer.
    • Garnish the cocktail with a slice of lime.

Enjoy! But remember to drink responsibly.

the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge is the life changing experience. I wish the Swiss Mocean Team a big luck and safe travels.
