This year on May 25th, The Dance will be performing in Zurich’s Hallenstadion for the third time.
The world’s best urban street dance crews will be competing to win the championship.
Street dance became popular in the United States during 1970s among young people in Bronx. The movement soon get a name of B-boying or breaking, also known as breakdancing. Its reputation of freedom in expression and improvisation quickly expanded around the world, creating a powerful community of those, who feel the rhythm and beat in the same way. Although I have tried and love breaking, I prefer to watch a good performance by professionals rather than dancing it myself.
The dance 2018 presents 10 Crews, 7 Judges, 2 Hosts, 2 DJ’s & 1 Special Act.
The stars of the event are ten international urban dance crews, the best of the best in the national and international ratings. The crews will be judged by a top-class jury. The Technical Jury will evaluate the performance of the dances and select the winning crew. The Lifestyle Jury awards will find its winners in the newly created Best Style and Best Sound Interpretation categories.

- Dancing crews at The Dance 2018: Team England (the winners of The Dance 2017), Team USA, Team South Korea, Team Switzerland, Team France, Team Germany, Team Belarus, Team Italy, Team Holland and Team Ukraine.
- The host is Redchild.
- Technical Juges: Storm, Salah, Niki Awandee and Crazy Legs.
- Lifestyle Judges: Zoë Pastell, Luca Hänni, Karin El Mais and Willy William.
- Date: May 25th, 2018.

Highlights of The Dance 2018:
- Special performances were presented by Luca Hänni and Willy William.
- Battle DJ’s were DJ Renegade and DJ Nobunaga.
- The Lifestyle Judges have selected the Team UK as winners in the Best Style and the Team South Korea in the Best Sound Interpretation categories.
- The teams USA, UK, Netherlands and France made it to the Semi-Finals.
- Finally, after a tough battle the Team France and the Team Holland were competing in the Finals.
